several successful businesses, including Brocklin Toys Ltd
(co-owner), Paws to Remember, and Buckingham Stencils Inc.
(co-owner). Her publications

In
the early 1980s she lobstered and longlined in Nova Scotia and
became the second woman in Canada to hold a 100-ton fishing
master's license. Her fishing career was followed by more time
at sea, this time cruising aboard
|
a
42 foot sailboat. She, her young children, and husband (at the
time) spent four years cruising the Eastern Seaboard, Northern
Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico. Until recently she and her
husband, Greg Deacon, lived aboard a classic cruiser in
downtown Vancouver and cruised the coastal waters of British
Columbia in their spare time. They now divide their time
between Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast.
A
self-described "talent free" artist, Linda has
conducted painting seminars across North America, and has
demonstrated her painting techniques on many popular television
shows including Discovery Network’s Home
Matters, Debbie
Travis’ Painted
House, and
Sue Warden’s Craftscapes.
